This years Easter expedition took place from 8th – 16 April. We where based in Larnaca on the south east coast of Cyprus. The cost of this trip was about £600 and covered flights, transfers in Cyprus and UK, bed and breakfast accommodation, 10 dives on the wreck of the Zenobia, cylinders, weights and either air or nitrox.
We flew from London Gatwick on the 8th April arriving in Cyprus in the late evening. Diving took place from the 9th to the 14th, before flying back to the UK on the 15th arriving at Gatwick.
The accommodation was at the Sanremo hotel which is five minutes walk from the dive center in double rooms with twin beds. The dive center is Dive I n who are the main TDI dive center in Cyprus.
On the first day on their second dive one dive team managed to clock up 16 minutes of decompression and about 2 to 3 hours after this dive one of the team developed DCI and was treated in the recompression chamber at Lymasole. The rest of the group had a good weeks diving visiting the engine room and the engineering spaces beyond around room 606 which was the plan for this trip.
One of the group carried out her first sea dive and her first boat dive. For at least half of the group it was their first wreck penetration dives and their first decompression dives. So a lot was learned by all.
